I was Born on the 9th of January 1986 in Piacenza, at the age of 3 years old I started studying ballet at the Accademia Domenichino da Piacenza. The Acadamey director was Giuseppina Campolonghi and it gave me the opportunity to train with renowned dancers such as Robert Strainer and Anna Maria Grossi (Teatro alla Scala), Mia Molinari, Virgilio Pitzalis, Simona de Paola. When I was young I always wanted to be a dancer but due to an ankle injury I then started studying singing at the age of 16 years old at Accademia della Musica in Piacenza with my beloved teacher Angelina.
The first song I learned was Summertime.
In the beginning I was just singing for friends until I took part in my first competition GEF (Global Education Festival) in Sanremo, and won the First Prize, rewarded by Katia Ricciarelli, I then really started to believe ‘I could become a singer.’
From 2002 to 2012, I was a singer with Cantarana Orchestra and in 2007 we took part in the project SGT. PEPPER’S 1967-2007 – Tribute to The Beatles, recording Penny Lane. From September 2008 to August 2009 I also worked with a reggae band, NTM – New Tribal Momevent (Ex ETNORCHESTRA) and together we played in some great festivals like : Santa sofia Busker Festival – FO, Voci dal Sud – SA. From July 2008 to March 2016 I have been on tour in Italy and abroad (Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, Poland, Sweden, America) with the progressive swing quintet Sugarpie & The Candymen. In June 2011, we took part in the 27th edition of Ascona Jazz Festival 2011 and won the audience award.
With this band I recorded four albums, all for Italian indie label Irma Records, and have performed in jazz clubs and festivals all over Europe, such as Umbria Jazz and Umbria Jazz Winter 2015, Jazz Ascona, Madrid Jazz Festival, Offtown Festival(Istanbul), La Meridien Etoile (Paris) and many others.
With Sugarpie & The Candymen I have also taken part to several radio and TV shows in Italy, Switzerland and Poland. Among them the Christmas Concert at the Vatican (Rai1), Quelli dello Swing (Rai2), Stereonotte (RadioRai1), Caterpillar (RadioRai2), Radio2 Social Club(RadioRai2).
I had the pleasure to perform and collaborate with : Renzo Arbore, Michael Supnick, Adriano Fabi, Umberto Petrin, Paolo Badiini, Mattia Cigalini, Sandro Gibellini, Gianni Satta, Lorenzo Conte, Lorenzo Poli, Carmelo Tartamella, Alex Carreri, Dean Zucchero, Matteo Bassi, Andrea Torresani, Angelo Cattoni, Gregory Agid.
After having recently moved to Switzerland, I have just finished one year of study at at the Swiss Jazz School in Berne, and now have a place at the Hochschule fur Music in Basel where I have the opportunity to study further.
